Bonanza World
Bonanza World is a fun fansite devoted to the classic tv western show Bonanza currently airing on TVLand and starring Michael Landon, Pernell Roberts, Lorne Greene, Dan Blocker and David Canary.
Bonanza the show was an hour long western drama that took place in 1860s Nevada territory. The series originally aired on NBC from September 12, 1959 to January 16, 1973 and unlike many other programs of its era it was filmed in colour from the outset, a decision meant to help Bonanza's sponsor RCA sell more colour television sets.
Ben Cartwright was the wealthy owner of a large ranch called the Ponderosa. Widowed three times, Ben had a son by each of his wives: the eldest son was Adam, the middle son Hoss and youngest son Little Joe.
Although Bonanza was cancelled abruptly midway into the 1972-73 season, it ran for almost 14 years, an amazing feat for any television show. It is still popular today in re-runs and the eventual release of season set dvds is eagerly anticipated by the show's loyal fans. Here on the Bonanza World website you can share your love of the show
